FAQ for Author

JournalISI publishes research in information systems, informatics, computer science, and digital technology applications. Check the research areas on the About the Journal page. In your introduction, state the problem you investigated, what earlier studies left unresolved, and how your findings contribute to the field.

Choose Research Article to report original empirical, experimental, or theoretical findings. Choose Literature Review / Bibliometric to critically synthesize existing studies or analyse patterns across a set of publications; for a review, explain how you searched for and selected the studies. Structure and recommended length are on the Types of Manuscript page.

Prepare your article with the official Manuscript Template. Per the Author Guidelines:

• English title of up to 20 words
• 100–200-word abstract covering objective, methods, main findings, and conclusion
• 3–5 keywords
• Citations and references in IEEE style

Yes, for manuscripts submitted from December 2026 onward.

The Author Guidelines then require at least one international co-author. Every author must meet the Authorship Criteria, and each contribution should be described using the CRediT taxonomy.

JournalISI accepts submissions throughout the year. No need to wait for a call for papers.

Register or sign in on the Submissions page, then prepare:

• Your manuscript, plus the Turnitin similarity report as a supplementary file
• Statements on author contributions, conflicts of interest, and AI use
• Where applicable, ethics approval and informed consent statements

The manuscript must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by another journal.

Maximum 15%, including matches from the template and references.

As explained in the Peer Review Process, editors also examine the matched passages when judging originality.

The Ethics Statement permits limited use of AI for language editing, grammar correction, and readability. Disclose how you used the tool. AI-generated content may be no more than 25% of the manuscript, and you remain responsible for the accuracy of the entire article.

Review time varies. The Peer Review Process requires at least two rounds before acceptance and gives no fixed estimate in weeks; duration depends on reviewer reports, revision time, and whether another round is needed.

1. Screening: an editor checks fit with the journal, contribution, originality, and ethics compliance.
2. Round 1: at least two reviewers assess the study.
3. Round 2: if a revision is invited, reviewers examine the revised manuscript and your responses.
4. Decision: accept, request further revision, or reject.

By the deadline in the editorial decision, send the revised manuscript and a point-by-point response. Address every editor and reviewer comment, describe what you changed and where (section and page number), and explain why if you kept your original approach. Submission is free. The article processing charge (APC) is payable only after editorial acceptance.

Rates on the Fee and Information page cover up to 35 pages; an additional charge applies from page 36. For mixed Indonesian and non-Indonesian teams, confirm the rate via the Contact page.

The editorial office issues the LoA once peer review is complete, the editor has accepted the manuscript, and the publication fee has been paid. Acceptance is decided through the Peer Review Process; payment follows under the terms on the Fee and Information page.

Your article will be published in accordance with the information stated in your LoA, including the assigned issue.

JournalISI publishes six issues a year: February, April, June, August, October, and December (annual schedule on About the Journal). After acceptance, the article is copyedited and proofread, and you approve the final version. Please follow the publication details in your LoA.

The editorial office cannot confirm this in advance, because the number of articles ready for an issue depends on which manuscripts have completed the Peer Review Process and been accepted. You may submit at any time; your LoA will show your assigned issue.

Yes. Under the Open Access & Archiving policy, readers get the full text free, with no subscription, as soon as the article is published.
