CrossMark Policy Statement

Journal of Information Systems and Informatics (JournalISI) (ISSN: 2656-5935, e-ISSN: 2656-4882) is committed to maintaining the integrity, permanence, and reliability of all published scholarly literature. Applying the CrossMark button allows readers to quickly access the current status of a published document, including any updates, corrections, retractions, or notices regarding the publication history.

What is CrossMark?

CrossMark is a multi-publisher initiative from Crossref that provides a standard way for readers to check the status of published content. By applying the CrossMark logo, JournalISI commits to maintaining its published content and documenting relevant changes. Clicking on the CrossMark logo displays the recorded publication status and may provide additional metadata, such as publication history (received, accepted, and published dates), copyright and licensing information, and authors’ ORCID iDs. Minor editorial corrections are documented through dated correction notes on the article’s landing page and in the amended file, where applicable.

Corrections, Expressions of Concern, Retractions, and Withdrawals

JournalISI addresses errors and integrity concerns in accordance with its Ethics Statement and Corrections and Retractions policy, using relevant COPE guidance as a primary reference.

Corrections and Clarifications: Minor editorial errors, such as typographical mistakes, formatting inconsistencies, incorrect table labels, or incomplete bibliographic details where the cited source remains unchanged and identifiable, may be corrected directly in the published article following editorial assessment. Such corrections must not affect scientific meaning, interpretation, findings, conclusions, or attribution of authorship. They do not require a separate correction notice or a new DOI. The article retains its original DOI, and a dated note describing the changes is added to its landing page and any amended published file. The journal retains the previous file and an internal record of the changes. Errors affecting scientific meaning, interpretation, attribution, or other material information require assessment for a formal correction. Clarifications may be issued where additional explanation is needed to prevent material misunderstanding. The Editor-in-Chief determines the appropriate action based on the nature and impact of the issue.
Expressions of Concern: A notice may be issued when credible concerns about an article remain unresolved, available evidence is inconclusive, or an investigation is ongoing.
Retractions: Articles may be retracted when clear evidence establishes that the findings are substantially unreliable because of serious error or misconduct, or when significant ethical breaches undermine the integrity of the publication.
Exceptional Withdrawals: Advance Articles or Online First articles not yet assigned to an issue may be considered for withdrawal under exceptional circumstances. The absence of an issue assignment alone does not justify withdrawal, and any action affecting publicly available content is documented transparently.

Formal notices that update the published record, including substantive corrections, clarifications, expressions of concern, and retractions, receive their own DOI and are linked to the affected article. Relevant publication-status information is updated through CrossMark. Minor editorial corrections follow the documentation procedure described above and do not require a separate DOI or a formal CrossMark update notice.
